LOGGING INTO WEBSITE

CREATING YOUR PROFILE

On your very first visit to the site, you are asked to complete your user profile. Click in each field and enter the appropriate data. Be sure to enter a new password. Use something you will remember. When the profile form is complete, click "Create Profile" and you will return to your home page.

[Please note: Your personal information will never be given to anyone else. Barronsregents.com does NOT SELL LISTS! Your privacy is very important to us.]


ADMINISTRATOR'S CONTROL PANEL

Once you're logged in your administrator's control panel will be displayed.


From here you can do a number of things:

You may also "refresh" your control panel at any time by clicking of the refresh button . This will give you the most up-to-date information on the status of your current users.

SESSION DETAILS


Click Show Detail to display the most current information for each open session: In addition, you will find an option to close an individual user's session. This is useful if a user has ended their session without using the LOGOUT button themselves. By closing a session the total time online for that user will be recalculated based on the last recorded action of that user, giving you a more accurate accounting of your Site License usage.

STUDENT ACCESS

Students, or users, will have access to Barron's test preparation site in one of two ways. Each student may be instructed to simply open a browser window and type into the address box the following Web address: www.barronsregents.com/exams/SL_sec.start_screen.

Alternatively, you may want to give users access directly through a link on the desktop of their individual computer terminal. This method eliminates the possibility of students mis-typing the address.
To create a link on the desktop of a computer follow these steps:
  1. Close or minimize all open programs so that you see your Desktop screen.
  2. Right-click an empty space on the screen.
  3. Move your cursor over the word New and then click on Shortcut
  4. In the box under the instruction, "Type the location of the item:", type: www.barronsregents.com/exams/SL_sec.start_screen and click "Next".
  5. Give this shortcut a descriptive name such as Barron's Regents Prep or NYS Regents Test Prep and click "Finish"

CLOSING USER SESSIONS

At any time, usually at the end of the day, you may be aware that all users have ended their online sessions but not all have actually logged off our system. By clicking on Close All Sessions you will close all open sessions (after confirming your request) and recalculate the total online time based on the last recorded action of each user thereby giving you a more accurate accounting of your Site License usage.
